S&S 124” Super Sidewinder Plus Engines

Choose Twin Cam® or Evolution® Style Mounting: These engines are available with two different motor mount styles. The first has the stock Twin Cam® style rear motor mount designed for replacement use in an existing Harley-Davidson® chassis. Take the stock engine out and put an S&S engine in. It’s that simple. This is a turn-key solution to the age-old problem of making your bike go faster. The second has an Evolution® style rear motor mount and can be installed in any stock or aftermarket Evolution® style chassis. This engine allows owners of Evolution® style bikes to upgrade to a Twin Cam® style power plant without buying a new bike. Maybe you’ve spent a lot of time and effort getting your bike the way you want it, but you’d like a Twin Cam® style engine. You can keep the bike you’ve customized and have an updated engine too! Carbureted or Fuel Injected Engines for carbureted models all come with the S&S Super G carburetor with the slotted "Desperado" air cleaner cover.

S&S Intelligent Spark Technology (IST) for Carbureted Engines: This system can be purchased with carbureted S&S Twin Cam® style engines. Engines equipped with the IST ignition are covered by an extended two year warranty because of S&S’s confidence that the IST ignition will protect the engine from damage due to detonation. In addition, the IST Guardian "break in rev limit" feature is activated on IST modules sold with complete S&S engines. This feature protects the new engine from premature failure with a lower rev limit during break in. Engines sold without the IST ignition carry the standard S&S warranty of one year. IST equipped engines are available for 1999-'03 models, while engines without the IST ignition can be used in 1999-2003 motorcycles.

S&S Variable Fuel Injection (VFI) for Fuel Injected Engines:Fuel injected engines come with the S&S Variable Fuel Injection (VFI) Module, manifolds and throttle body. S&S teardrop air cleaners or VFI tuned induction systems must be purchased separately to complete the package. The VFI system comes with the complete S&S VFI tuning software package which contains fuel maps for the most common exhaust systems used in conjunction with both the S&S air cleaner and the S&S VFI tuned induction system. This means that anyone with a laptop computer can load the correct map into the module and drive it away! VFI equipped engines are available for motorcycles originally equipped with the stock Magnetti Marelli® fuel injection system from 1995-01, and for bikes originally equipped with the stock Delphi® fuel injection system that was supplied on 2001 Softails® and all 2002-03 models. S&S VFI is not compatible with 2004-later models. A VFI Induction Kit must be ordered separately to complete VFI Engines.
